Takele Mammo Denbi entered the Single Farmer Lots Program this year not as a newcomer to the system, but as someone deeply familiar with how producer-led coffee export operates at scale. For many years, Takele served as Managing Director of the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU), guiding cooperative strategy while his own farm remained an active member within the network.

Throughout his tenure, Takele made a deliberate decision to keep his personal production separate from single-producer recognition in order to maintain transparency and avoid conflicts of interest. With his leadership role now concluded, his coffee enters the program for the first time—bringing long-standing experience and farm-level discipline into direct focus.

This lot was cultivated on Takele’s 8-hectare farm in the Konga district, positioned within the Gedeo Zone’s narrow plateau where producer density, agronomic knowledge, and processing skill have shaped what the market recognizes as Yirgacheffe coffee. Konga is widely respected for consistency and quality, and this offering reflects both the strength of the community and Takele’s long-term commitment to expanding opportunity for farmers working within it.
