Antonio Medina Washed
Antonio Medina’s dream of owning a coffee farm began long before he planted his first tree. After inheriting a portion of land from his father, Antonio first grew basic crops like corn and beans, while working on neighboring coffee farms to learn the craft. In 1991, he planted his first coffee trees and slowly built La Colina into the farm it is today.
Located in Chimaltenango, Antigua, Guatemala, La Colina sits at 1,700 MASL on clay-rich soil, with Inga shade trees supporting the farm’s growing environment. The name La Colina, meaning The Hill, comes from the elevated landscape where the farm is planted. Today, Antonio grows Caturra and Bourbon varieties, producing washed coffees that reflect both the structure of Antigua and the perseverance behind his work
